Your Thanksgiving Food Hack!


Hello Health Champion!

Thanksgiving week is upon us and for many people a Thanksgiving feast is the start of a month-long holiday food festival.

This is why the average weight gain through the holidays is 10-15 pounds.

But those stats are in the past for you, because today you’re learning my “Thanksgiving Food Hack”.

My Thanksgiving Hack will help you Eat your favorite holiday foods and still achieve your health goals.   YES, it’s possible.

Winning with your health the next 45 days is all about Planning, Eating and Moving.

Plan when you’re going for it and enjoying an “off-plan” meal.

Maybe it’s just Thanksgiving or possibly 2-7 times through the holidays.  Our family is rocking Thanksgiving Disneyworld style and the Disney Fort Wilderness Campground literally has the greatest cornbread.  Needless to say, that will be an epic “off-plan” meal for me and I’m also planning a few more over the next 45 days, guilt free eating!

Eat clean 90% of the time.

The Holidays are an incredible time of the year with so many delicious foods and recipes.   Enjoy yourself, those moments of food joy won’t hurt your metabolism.  The key to your health success is making sure the other 90% of the time you’re “on-plan” and eating clean proteins, fats and carbs.

Move your body.

Movement is life!  The more you move the faster your metabolism.  Focus on 5 days of at least 30-60 minutes of activity each week.  But the real change comes from the bonus activity.  Playing with your kids, hiking with your friends, or a brisk bike ride are awesome examples of bonus activity.  Plus, as you do things at work or around the house, keep your core tight.  Every morning I clean the kitchen and straighten up our downstairs by loading the dishwasher, wiping the counters and cleaning up Hope’s 5-year-old mess (Abbi and I joke that her nickname is “Hope The Destroyer”, of course in a loving way!)

While cleaning I bring my shoulder’s back and focus on activating my core.

That little adjustment helps me burn 3 times more calories every hour.

When I work, I stand.  That adjustment also helps me burn 3 times more calories and keeps my body strong.
